Gary Dulabaum - Singer, Songwriter, Entertainer and recording artist of music for children and families
Once upon a time Gary Dulabaum was a humble mid-western emigrant with an education degree, a priceless cassette collection of old-time music and an undying allegiance to two guardians of American folk culture, Henny Youngman and Elvis. Years later these disparate strands of DNA are apparent in Gary Dulabaum, performer of entertaining and empowering music for children, and teacher of people who love and guide them.
It was show time as children's entertainer, Gary Dulabaum walked out on stage. The house was packed, standing room only, as the audience lined the stage forming one of the most awesome pre-school mosh pits that you'll ever experience. The crowd sang, they danced, they grooved, they drooled and just partied full-force for sixty solid miniutes hopping like frogs, gyrating like Elvis, swimming with Aunt Jackie, dancing a hip-hop Humpty-Dumpty, jazzing it with the three little pigs - following Gary's every move and adding their own special touch - and singing every song every child should know! If you're a kid life just doesn't get much better than hanging out at a Gary Dulabaum children's concert where it's even cool to dance with your mom and dad!
Former pre-school teacher, Gary Dulabaum definitely brings a contemporary vibe to kids’ music. A Wyoming newspaper reporter said “Combine actor Christopher Lloyd and Gene Simmons of KISS with child-favorite Barney and you have Gary Dulabaum, a high-energy musician with a penchant for education, literacy and a good time - no matter the age of the audience, from the very young to the young at heart and every age in between."
Singer, songwriter, recording artist and entertainer, Gary Dulabaum, lets his musical roots show traveling down the highway of folk, traditonal, jazz and old timey music with just enough Mother Goose thrown into the mix to really enhance the rhythm and movement activites. His originals like "The New Jazzy Three Little Pigs" are played with a jazzy lightness, which is laid back and lively. His songs show a particular sensitivity to issues close to children. Dulabaum is a performer who knows how to write for his audience without talking down to them.
Multi-instrumentalist, Gary Dulabaum, has released six recordings of children's music and one book. Gary and his book, My Teacher Rides a Harley, were featured on Morning Edition on National Public Radio. Gary has also appeared on many educational radio and TV shows such as Book Talk in Tampa, Florida. His episode on Book Talk won a Bronze Telly Award of Excellence in children's programming, and was named "The Best Children's Single Program" at the Southern Sunshine Video Festival.
